A Million Dollars For My Start-Up!
I had been developing my e-Business Plan for 6 months when I began to look for investment. The time seemed right for me and for my business yet the global economic situation did not appear to be on my side.
I went to Angela to help me get a million dollars in investment knowing and feeling that the business techniques and tools that I had been studying and implementing for so long may not be enough and I was laying everything on the line for this venture I had dedicated so much time, energy and focus to.
Fed-Up With Doing All of The Work Myself:
I was fed up working with business partners who hadn’t delivered on their promises or seemed to leave most of the work to me since I was simply better at it. I wanted to work my hours on my terms with quick deadlines and on the projects that interested me. I longed for a job where I could really feel happy and inspired in my work everyday.
Time To Be My Own Boss:
I decided to be my own boss and I knew that my idea ha the potential to become huge. I wanted to build something from the ground up and really see it grow. My ultimate challenge was to develop something amazing from A to Z and I was set on succeeding at it, whatever it took!
My first task was to work on finding the perfect investors that would be keen not only to make big money from the venture but also to support an entrepreneurial project in its initial phase and seeing it through to fruition.
I’d worked with Angela before and knew what she was capable of. I should be very clear here that I had dabbled in looking for mentoring with several well known marketing and business gurus but somehow they didn’t ‘feel’ quite right. I decided to go with Angela because she is so much more than that and she really got me to step out of the box.

The longest I have ever had to wait to feel and see a shift in energy and reactions is 10 minutes in a meeting that involved various people and very strong emotions.

Searching For An Investor:
Almost a week after my search for an investor began I met with an old work colleague who immediately took a liking to the project and my entrepreneurial streak…
She spoke to a few people who were well connected and then told me that a contact of hers might be interested in having a look at the teaser document I’d prepared and give me some pointers as to how I could best pitch my idea to potential investors.
A Successful City Banker:
Her contact was a very successful city banker who specialized in finding investment for startup companies so he knew the ins and outs of how to best present a business idea, plan, and projections.
I was eager to see what he would have to say and I also knew that he had invested in startups in the past so I was even more interested in the prospect of having him onboard as an investor.
I immediately got in contact with him and arranged a meeting for Monday the following week…
Overwhelmed With All I Needed To Do:
To my disappointment I found that as soon as I got the ball rolling with meetings it gathered speed very quickly and I found myself having trouble keeping up with it.
I had lots of meetings and conference calls with contacts abroad and by the time the weekend arrived I was feeling completely overwhelmed by the new amount of research I needed to do and how unprepared I now felt for this important meeting.
Alone & Out Of My Depth:
Seeing no other way out I postponed the meeting.
I tried meditating and getting my thoughts together but to make things worse my business partner was not in the country at the time so I was at a loss for support on any kind of level be it business or personal.
My Mentor & Friend Came To Save Me:
Angela called me out of the blue asking how I was and if she could help me with anything?
I had connected with Angela 9 months earlier and she had helped me get through a personal situation but it had been a while since we’d last spoken.
How she knows when I need her help I still don’t know, and it feels normal to me now, but she just has this uncanny way of knowing what I need exactly when I need it.
So I told her about my business and how important it was for me to get the investment I needed soon because of the deadlines, I had just under 3 months to raise 1 million dollars and set up operations.
I Feel Shifts In My Body From What She Does:
There have actually been times when she has been doing energetic clearings and healings on different aspects of my life, and I could feel a change in my body or mood without knowing it was Angela’s energy work that was creating these shifts within me!
Angela would then call and tell me what she’d been up to at which point it’s always obvious that what I had been feeling on that day and at that time, was indeed her working for me on my space or energy.
So Much Just From Our First Call Together:
In that first call Angela spent an hour and a half with me showing me how to centre myself, how to focus my mind and what questions I needed to ask in order to get the answers I sought.
She helped me detach emotionally from the outcome, allowing me to let the bigger picture and final results come easily into my thoughts and mind instead of trying to force the whole issue and plying it with self-doubt and questions on how, what, when, where, why and who?
Angela gave me the tools necessary to feel totally grounded and in control of my work and my thoughts. As a fellow businessperson or entrepreneur I’m sure you will sympathize with how difficult achieving this can be at times!
An Absolutely Amazing Technique:
She taught me an energy pulling technique to use during the meeting that would balance the energy between myself and the other person so that if there were any barriers they would come down easily and swiftly.
I must mention here that one of the main things I love about working with Angela is that she doesn’t just teach you a skill and then leave you to it. She literally takes you through the techniques and coaches you in how to use them in all sorts of different scenarios.
Perfecting A Technique That Can Be Used In Multiple Ways:
It’s still amusing to me to note the number of times I have called her to ask her how to deal with a specific situation, and she has given me same the technique I’ve already been using, with a little twist to make it even more effective in this situation. It never fails!
I’m now at the point where I’m utilizing what she teaches me in a whole range of situations and she is always accessible and available to ask for guidance on how to make it work even better.
I’ve been using this pulling energy technique to bring in investors, and when talking to and masterminding with some of Angela’s other personal coaching clients, I have found that they are using the exact same techniques to bring in more customers, clients, investment, marketing, contacts and much more, the list could go on.

Pulling Energy Transforms An Important Business Meeting:
I finally got into the meeting with this guy and he was very cold and brash. If you have been in a similar situation you will know it’s normal for investors to be a little stand offish, because they are the ones with the power, they control the money, and as much as I was prepared for this kind of reaction, this guy was unnecessarily rude…
So we sat down and I started pitching my idea to him. Angela had shown me how to detach from the emotion of the venture and to not see it as my “baby” and it was time for me to start using this technique if I was to stay grounded, calm and succinct.
He listened for a little and then proceeded to say “I’m not going to pretend it’s the best idea in the world because it’s not, it is a sound idea but people aren’t investing right now”.
I began to feel disheartened and annoyed at the idea that I might be wasting my time with this meeting, but I went back to what Angela had taught me and detached as best I could. I became very quickly aware of the fact that this guy was not the only investor in the world and maybe I could play with the situation because from what I could tell, I had nothing to lose!
So I started pulling energy during the meeting.
In less than 2 minutes the most amazing transformation occurred right there in front of me…
The businessman started to loosen up and began to give me advice on how to go about getting investment and asking me constructive questions about the business plan, where 5 minutes earlier her had been jumping to conclusions about it!
We discussed a range of options but I was still set on getting him to invest and introduce me to other potential investors so I pulled energy even more and mentally took myself through the grounding exercise that was also taught to me by Angela.
I almost burst out laughing and had to take a sip of my Latte to disguise my wonder at this whole situation, if he didn’t hold so much opportunity for the success of my business, it might have been comical…
Out of the blue he started complimenting me saying that I had evidently researched and developed the project thoroughly and to treat him as a potential investor because he was indeed interested. He also mentioned that he knew of some people who could be interested in investing large amounts, two or three “big fish” and that he would advise me on how best to present the business plan for free (this is his line of, highly paid, work).
We started talking and enjoying each other’s company on a more respectful and relaxed level, and he turned out to be a really nice person.
I Wondered If This Was Manipulation:
As I left the meeting and we exchanged goodbyes I momentarily wondered if I had manipulated the whole scenario? The overall feeling though was one of contentment and completion. I am a businessperson who is extremely driven but also works on gut feelings (as do most successful entrepreneurs) and I was quick to realize that this was nothing more than me taking the reigns on my life, my venture and my business meetings!
In 2 minutes I had managed to get my relationship with this VIP contact to the place that might normally take a couple of social meetings and hours. I was so happy to have gained his respect and hear him state at the end of the meeting that ‘it is very nice to be able to meet and connect with charming and intelligent business entrepreneurs such as yourself”.
For anyone reading this it is safe to say that when seeking investment for your startup it is usually the entrepreneur doing all the calling and chasing but to add to my surprise it was he who made all the follow up calls, insisting on getting through to me whichever way possible in order to communicate that he had found one big fish investor for me!
How does it get any better than this?
Amazing…
It’s been like this ever since. The whole pressure of finding an investor has gone, and now I’m relaxing into thinking about finding the investor I like the most, and who I think I can work with and will help me grow the business with their experience.
What at the beginning of the year seemed like a massive challenge not only on a business but on a personal level has in 6 weeks become a reality and I can honestly say it has all been down to the tools I have learnt from Angela that have empowered me and allowed me to create the life and business of my dreams!
